Hiatus Kaiyote in Auckland

Hiatus Kaiyote are an Australian band formed in Melbourne in 2011, playing experimental soul, jazz and R&B. Led by singer and guitarist Nai Palm, they became known through albums including Tawk Tomahawk, Choose Your Weapon and Mood Valiant, as well as songs such as “Nakamarra,” “Breathing Underwater” and “Red Room.” In 2015, Hiatus Kaiyote performed a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR Music during the touring cycle for Choose Your Weapon. They went on to perform at Glastonbury and Coachella, then returned to international touring behind Mood Valiant. The group performs as a full band, built around Nai Palm’s vocals and guitar, Paul Bender’s bass, Simon Mavin’s keyboards and Perrin Moss’s drums and percussion.
