Holly Johnson in Scarborough

Holly Johnson is a British singer-songwriter, born in Liverpool in 1960, who performs new wave, synth-pop and dance-pop. He became known as the lead singer of Frankie Goes to Hollywood on “Relax,” “Two Tribes” and “The Power of Love,” then began a solo career with the album “Blast” and singles including “Americanos” and “Love Train.” With Frankie Goes to Hollywood, he fronted the Welcome to the Pleasuredome Tour during the 1980s. In 2014 he returned to touring behind “Europa,” playing O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London and Manchester Academy. Holly Johnson performs with a live band, combining his solo catalogue with Frankie Goes to Hollywood songs produced by Trevor Horn.
