Il Volo in Forte dei Marmi

Il Volo is an Italian operatic-pop trio formed in 2009 by tenors Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto and baritone Gianluca Ginoble. The singers first appeared separately on the television competition Ti lascio una canzone before being brought together. Their best-known song, “Grande amore,” won the Sanremo Music Festival and represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015; their recordings also include the self-titled debut album and the Three Tenors tribute Notte Magica. In 2011, the trio recorded the concert special Il Volo Takes Flight at the Detroit Opera House. They performed in Piazza Santa Croce in 2016 alongside Plácido Domingo, and that concert became the basis of the Notte Magica project and its subsequent tour. A 2021 tribute concert at Arena di Verona led to the album and concert program Il Volo Sings Morricone. Il Volo performs frequently in Italy and has repeatedly toured the United States. The trio’s Latin American concerts have included return engagements in São Paulo and Mexico City.
