Isaiah J. Thompson in Honolulu

Isaiah J. Thompson is an American jazz pianist and composer from West Orange, New Jersey, whose music draws on swing, bebop and gospel. His recordings include The Power of the Spirit and A Guaraldi Holiday, and he received the Cole Porter Fellowship through the American Pianists Awards. The Power of the Spirit was recorded live at Dizzy’s Club in New York and documents him leading a quartet. He has also performed with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra under Wynton Marsalis and led his own group at the Newport Jazz Festival.
