Jasná páka is a Czech rock band formed in Prague in 1981 by singer, guitarist and songwriter Michal Ambrož. Its early new-wave sound and direct Czech lyrics are captured in songs including “Pal vocuď, hajzle,” “Špinavý záda” and “Mámo, táto.” In 1983, Jasná páka was barred from performing under its original name by the communist authorities. Michal Ambrož and several bandmates subsequently returned to the stage as Hudba Praha, while the Jasná páka name was revived decades later for reunion concerts built around the early repertoire.
