Jazzkantine in Cloppenburg

Jazzkantine is a German collective formed in Braunschweig in 1993, playing jazz, funk and brass-driven grooves with German-language rap. The self-titled album Jazzkantine established the group’s live-band approach, followed by Heiß & Fettig and tracks such as “Es ist Jazz.” Jazzkantine performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival as its club and festival work expanded beyond Germany. The concerts feature a full ensemble of rhythm players, brass, turntables and changing vocalists, a format the group later brought into theatre for Unser Eintracht at the Staatstheater Braunschweig.
