John Mellencamp in The Woodlands

John Mellencamp is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in 1951 in Seymour, Indiana, who plays heartland and roots rock shaped by folk, country and rhythm and blues. Earlier records appeared under the names John Cougar and John Cougar Mellencamp. His best-known work includes “Jack & Diane,” “Hurts So Good,” “Pink Houses” and “Small Town,” as well as the albums American Fool, Scarecrow and The Lonesome Jubilee. In 1985, he helped launch Farm Aid with Willie Nelson and Neil Young and performed at its inaugural concert in Champaign, Illinois. Decades later, the No Better Than This Tour placed him in theatres during 2010 and 2011, followed by the Sad Clowns & Hillbillies Tour with Carlene Carter in 2017. Live and In Person returned him to North American theatres in 2023 and included a run at the Chicago Theatre.
