Joji is a Japanese singer, songwriter and producer, born in Osaka in 1992, whose music draws on alternative R&B, lo-fi pop and trip-hop. Before recording as Joji, he created the online characters Filthy Frank and Pink Guy. His best-known releases include the albums BALLADS 1, Nectar and SMITHEREENS, and the songs “Slow Dancing in the Dark,” “Sanctuary” and “Glimpse of Us.” In 2019, Joji toured North America and Europe on the BALLADS 1 Tour. He later played the Smithereens Tour and, in 2023, headlined Madison Square Garden and the Kia Forum under the Smithereens Oblivion banner before returning to arenas on the Pandemonium Tour. His festival appearances have included Coachella and 88rising’s Head in the Clouds festival in Los Angeles.
