José González & Seinabo Sey in Rättvik

José González is a Swedish singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Gothenburg in 1978. His acoustic folk songs are built around fingerpicked guitar and restrained vocals. His debut solo album, Veneer, includes “Crosses” and his cover of The Knife’s “Heartbeats”; later records include In Our Nature, Vestiges & Claws and Local Valley. He is also a member of Junip. In 2017, González toured Europe with the orchestral collective The String Theory, and recordings from those concerts became the album Live in Europe. In 2023, he marked two decades of his debut by performing the record in full on the Veneer 20th Anniversary Tour.

Seinabo Sey is a Swedish singer and songwriter of Gambian heritage, born in Stockholm in 1990. Her electronic soul-pop became known through “Younger” and “Hard Time,” followed by the albums Pretend, I’m a Dream and The One After Me. Seinabo Sey performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo in 2014, an early televised appearance outside Sweden. The following year she played Roskilde Festival, and her festival history in Sweden includes Way Out West in Gothenburg.
