Joseph Arthur in Vienna

Joseph Arthur is an American singer-songwriter and visual artist born in Akron, Ohio, in 1971. After signing to Peter Gabriel’s Real World Records, he released the album Big City Secrets. His catalogue ranges across alternative rock and folk, and includes the songs “In the Sun” and “Honey and the Moon” and the albums Come to Where I’m From and Redemption’s Son. The live EP Live at the Gypsy Tea Room documented a club performance in Dallas. He later released Live at the Bowery Ballroom, recorded at the New York venue, giving his solo concert work another full-length live document. Joseph Arthur’s solo sets are built around voice, guitar and loop pedals, which he uses to layer parts during the performance; he has also painted onstage at some shows. His live work has additionally included concerts with The Lonely Astronauts and a tour as part of Fistful of Mercy.
