Junior Brown in Fort Worth

Junior Brown is an American country singer, songwriter and guitarist, born in 1952, who plays honky-tonk, western swing and rockabilly. He is known for his custom double-neck “guit-steel,” which combines electric and steel guitars, and for songs including “My Wife Thinks You’re Dead” and “Highway Patrol” from the album Guit with It. In the late 1980s, Junior Brown began a long association with the Continental Club in Austin, where a weekly engagement helped establish his band. His concerts center on his singing and rapid switches between the two necks of the guit-steel, a format he later took to the Grand Ole Opry and Austin City Limits.
