Artist
Kawehi is an American singer, songwriter and loop artist born in Honolulu. She is known for one-woman recordings that layer vocals, beatboxing, guitar and keyboards, including her loop-built cover of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box.” Her original releases include Robot Heart and Interaktiv. Kawehi performs solo, recording rhythmic and instrumental parts into loop pedals before singing over the completed arrangement. This one-person format has shaped her own concerts as well as her performance at TEDxMaui.
