Artist
Kirk Franklin is an American gospel artist, songwriter and choir director, born in Fort Worth in 1970. He brought contemporary R&B and hip-hop production into choir-led gospel through recordings including “Stomp,” “Revolution,” “I Smile” and “Wanna Be Happy?,” as well as the albums Kirk Franklin and the Family and The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin. The Long Live Love Tour took him across the United States in 2019, supported by Koryn Hawthorne. In 2022 he toured arenas with Maverick City Music on the Kingdom Tour, following their collaborative album Kingdom Book One. The Reunion Tour followed in 2023, bringing The Family, God’s Property and One Nation Crew together in a choir-and-band production that also featured The Clark Sisters.
