Lloyd Cole in Edinburgh

Lloyd Cole is a British singer-songwriter, born in Buxton in 1961, who first became known as the frontman of Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, formed in Glasgow. The group’s debut album Rattlesnakes and songs including “Perfect Skin,” “Forest Fire” and “Lost Weekend” introduced his literate guitar pop. He began a solo career with the album Lloyd Cole in 1990 and later incorporated electronic music on Guesswork. In 2004, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions reunited for concerts marking the twentieth anniversary of Rattlesnakes. He later gave solo acoustic concerts and toured with a backing band, while the career-spanning From Rattlesnakes to Guesswork programme connected his early catalogue with his electronic work.
