Artist
Maija Vilkkumaa is a Finnish singer-songwriter known for direct, melodic pop-rock performed in her native language. After fronting the band Tarharyhmä, she launched her solo career with the 1999 album Pitkä ihana leikki; “Satumaa-tango,” “Ingalsin Laura” and “Ei” became signature songs. The 2007 live album Ilta Savoyssa documented her concert at Helsinki’s Savoy Theatre. After a break from recording and touring, she returned to the stage in 2015 and resumed performing with her band, including club concerts at Tavastia and festival appearances at Ruisrock.
