Los Cuatro Cuartos in Osorno

Los Cuatro Cuartos are a Chilean vocal folk group formed in Santiago in 1962 and closely associated with the country’s neofolklore movement. They are known for songs including “Qué bonita va” and “Adiós Santiago querido,” while the album Al 7º de Línea draws on episodes from the War of the Pacific. Los Cuatro Cuartos performed at the Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar during the 1960s. They reunited in the 1980s after an earlier breakup and resumed concerts in Chile. Their stage format centered on male four-part harmony and acoustic guitars, and longtime member Sergio Lillo directed a later lineup.
