Los Iracundos are a Uruguayan pop and romantic-ballad group formed in Paysandú in 1958. Led during their best-known period by singer and songwriter Eduardo Franco, they built a Spanish-language repertoire that includes “Puerto Montt,” “Te lo pido de rodillas,” “Calla” and “Va cayendo una lágrima.” Los Iracundos appeared at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival as part of a concert history centered on Spanish-speaking Latin America. Their tours took the group through Argentina, Chile, Peru and Ecuador, and later lineups kept the songs onstage after Eduardo Franco’s death.
