Los Tigres Del Norte in Hidalgo

Los Tigres del Norte are a Mexican norteño band formed in San Jose, California, in 1968 by members of the Hernández family. Their accordion-led corridos often address migration, crime, politics and working life; “Contrabando y traición,” “La puerta negra,” “Jefe de jefes” and “Golpes en el corazón” are among their best-known songs. In 2011, they recorded MTV Unplugged: Los Tigres del Norte and Friends at the Hollywood Palladium, joined by guests including Juanes and Zack de la Rocha. In 2019, the band performed inside Folsom State Prison, and the concert became the basis of the documentary Los Tigres del Norte at Folsom Prison. Mexico and the United States are the principal markets for the band’s concerts. They headline arenas in Mexico City and Monterrey.
