Lynyrd Skynyrd & Foreigner in Toronto

Lynyrd Skynyrd is an American southern-rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1964. Guitar-driven songs including “Free Bird,” “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Simple Man” established the group’s sound, while its early catalogue includes the albums Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd and Second Helping. The 1976 live album One More from the Road was recorded at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta and documented the band’s first era shortly before the 1977 plane crash. Surviving members regrouped for the Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Tour in 1987, and the Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour began in 2018. The band later toured with ZZ Top on the Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour. The concert lineup is a full rock band arranged around multiple electric guitars, and “Free Bird” traditionally serves as an extended finale. Johnny Van Zant has handled lead vocals since the 1987 reunion.

Foreigner is a British-American rock band formed in New York City in 1976 by Mick Jones, Ian McDonald and Lou Gramm. The group established its hard-rock and arena-rock sound on the album Foreigner, followed by songs including “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Juke Box Hero” and “I Want to Know What Love Is.” The 40th Anniversary Tour took Foreigner across North America in 2017 with Cheap Trick. The band followed it with the Juke Box Heroes Tour in 2018, joined by Whitesnake and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening. In 2023, Foreigner began its farewell tour, with Loverboy supporting the opening North American dates.
