Mandisi Dyantyis in Richards Bay

Mandisi Dyantyis is a South African singer, trumpeter and composer raised in Gqeberha. He plays jazz-rooted music shaped by Xhosa song, gospel and soul, and is known for the albums Somandla and Cwaka, as well as songs including “NguMama.” Mandisi Dyantyis performs as a singer and trumpeter at the head of a band, arranging his repertoire for concert halls and jazz festivals. He has presented concerts at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in Cape Town and performed at Johannesburg’s Standard Bank Joy of Jazz.
