Maria Schneider Orchestra in Seoul

Maria Schneider Orchestra is an American jazz orchestra formed in 1992 by composer and conductor Maria Schneider. The ensemble is known for Schneider’s detailed large-ensemble compositions and recordings including Evanescence, Concert in the Garden, The Thompson Fields and Data Lords. From 1993 through 1998, the orchestra played a weekly engagement at Visiones in Greenwich Village, giving Schneider a continuing forum for new compositions and arrangements. Beginning in 2005, the ensemble also made Thanksgiving-week concerts a recurring engagement at New York’s Jazz Standard.
