Marisa Monte in Curitiba

Marisa Monte is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and producer, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1967. Her music encompasses MPB, samba and pop, and her best-known recordings include “Beija Eu,” “Amor I Love You” and “Ainda Bem.” She also records with Arnaldo Antunes and Carlinhos Brown as Tribalistas, the group behind “Já Sei Namorar” and “Velha Infância.” The Verdade, Uma Ilusão tour presented material from O Que Você Quer Saber de Verdade and was documented as a concert film. In 2018 she reunited with Arnaldo Antunes and Carlinhos Brown for the first Tribalistas concert tour, which included a performance at Allianz Parque in São Paulo. She returned to her solo catalogue in 2022 on the Portas tour, whose set paired songs from that album with earlier work.
