Marlene Kuntz in Segrate

Marlene Kuntz are an Italian alternative-rock band formed in Cuneo in 1987, led by singer and guitarist Cristiano Godano and guitarist Riccardo Tesio. Their music draws on noise rock and tightly written Italian lyrics. The 1994 debut Catartica includes “Nuotando nell’aria,” while Il vile, Ho ucciso paranoia and “La canzone che scrivo per te” became further central works in their catalog. At the 2012 Sanremo Festival, the band competed with “Canzone per un figlio” and performed “Impressioni di settembre” together with Patti Smith. A decade later, the Karma Clima project involved recording residencies and performances in Ostana, Piozzo and Borgata Paraloup. In 2024, they marked the debut album’s 30th anniversary by performing it in full on the Catartica 2024 tour.
