Marty Stuart And His Fabulous Superlatives in Steamboat Springs

Marty Stuart And His Fabulous Superlatives is an American country and bluegrass band formed in 2002 around singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Marty Stuart. Their repertoire draws on his solo catalog, including “Hillbilly Rock,” “Tempted” and the Travis Tritt duet “The Whiskey Ain’t Workin’,” as well as band albums such as Country Music and Way Out West. Marty Stuart toured as a teenage mandolinist in Lester Flatt’s band and later played in Johnny Cash’s road band, experience that preceded the formation of the Fabulous Superlatives. The group later supported Chris Stapleton on selected dates of the All-American Road Show. The quartet features Marty Stuart on guitar and mandolin, Kenny Vaughan on guitar, Chris Scruggs on bass and Harry Stinson on drums, and all four musicians sing. In Nashville, the band plays Marty Stuart’s annual Late Night Jam at Ryman Auditorium and accompanies him for Grand Ole Opry appearances at the Grand Ole Opry House.
