Matisyahu in Bethel

Matisyahu is an American singer, rapper and beatboxer who performs reggae and hip-hop shaped by Jewish spiritual themes. Born Matthew Paul Miller in 1979, he is known for songs including “King Without a Crown,” “Jerusalem” and “One Day,” as well as the album Youth. A 2005 concert with Roots Tonic at Stubb’s in Austin became the live album Live at Stubb’s, documenting his singing, rapping and beatboxing with a full band. He later established the Festival of Light as a recurring Hanukkah concert series in New York. Webster Hall and Brooklyn Bowl were among the rooms used for the series.
