Matteo Mancuso in Somerville

Matteo Mancuso is an Italian guitarist and composer born in Palermo in 1996. He plays instrumental jazz fusion, rock and funk, using a fingerstyle electric-guitar technique built around the fingers of his picking hand. His debut album, The Journey (2023), includes “Silkroad” and “Drop D.” At Umbria Jazz in Perugia in 2017, Mancuso performed with his trio and earned a scholarship to Berklee College of Music. He later took the guitar-led trio format to international festival stages, appearing at the 2022 Montreux Jazz Festival as a guest of Al Di Meola.
