Mazhar Alanson is a Turkish singer-songwriter, guitarist and actor, best known as a member of the pop-rock trio MFÖ with Fuat Güner and Özkan Uğur. Born in Ankara in 1950, he wrote and sang on MFÖ songs including “Ele Güne Karşı,” “Peki Peki Anladık” and “Ali Desidero”; his solo work includes “Yandım” and the album Türk Lokumuyla Tatlı Rüyalar. Alanson performed with MFÖ at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1985, when the trio represented Turkey in Gothenburg with “Diday Diday Day.” They returned to the contest in 1988 with “Sufi,” performing the song in Dublin.
