Artist
Merzbow is the noise project created in 1979 by Japanese musician and visual artist Masami Akita. The project is known for harsh, densely layered electronic sound and an extensive catalog that includes Pulse Demon, Venereology and the Merzbox collection. In 2006, Merzbow performed with Boris at the Tokyo club Earthdom, and the concert was documented on the live album Rock Dream. A 2010 performance in Norway was later released as Live at Henie Onstad Art Centre, preserving another of Akita’s solo noise sets at the Henie Onstad Art Centre.
