Miguel Mateos in Guatemala City

Miguel Mateos is an Argentine rock singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in 1954, who formed Zas with his brother Alejandro Mateos in 1979 before continuing under his own name. His best-known songs include “Tirá para arriba,” “Cuando seas grande,” “Obsesión” and “Es tan fácil romper un corazón,” while Rockas vivas and Solos en América are central albums in his catalog. In 1981, Miguel Mateos and Zas opened for Queen at Estadio José Amalfitani in Buenos Aires, an early stadium appearance before the band’s first album. Four years later, performances at Teatro Coliseo were recorded for Rockas vivas, making the theatre concerts part of the album itself.
