Molchat Doma in San Luis Obispo

Molchat Doma are a Belarusian post-punk trio formed in Minsk in 2017. Their music is built on cold synthesizers, drum-machine rhythms, guitar and a low baritone vocal. The album Etazhi, particularly “Sudno (Boris Ryzhy),” brought them a broad audience outside Belarus; it also includes “Kletka” and “Toska.” Later albums include Monument and Belaya Polosa. In 2022, Molchat Doma played Coachella while touring North American clubs and theatres as a headliner. The trio also toured Europe that year and performed at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. The group performs as a trio: Yegor Shkutko sings, Roman Komogortsev plays guitar and synthesizers, and Pavel Kozlov handles bass and synthesizers.
