Artist
Montaigne is the stage name of Australian singer-songwriter Jessica Cerro, who was born in Sydney in 1995. Her art-pop catalogue includes the albums Glorious Heights and Complex, as well as the songs “Because I Love You,” “Don’t Break Me” and “Technicolour.” She was chosen to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020 and returned as the country’s entrant in 2021 after the 2020 contest was cancelled. Montaigne took Glorious Heights on an Australian headline tour in 2016, following appearances at Groovin the Moo and Splendour in the Grass. She returned to headline dates around Complex in 2019. For the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, she performed “Technicolour” in a live-on-tape recording because pandemic restrictions prevented her from travelling to Rotterdam.
