Moonalice is an American psychedelic roots-rock and jam band formed in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2007. Founded by Roger McNamee, the group released its T Bone Burnett-produced debut album in 2009 and is particularly known for the song “It’s 4:20 Somewhere.” Moonalice performed at the Summer of Love 40th-anniversary concert in Golden Gate Park during its first year. The band went on to record its concerts and make the music available online, then established the annual 420 Gathering of the Tribe at venues including Slim’s and Sweetwater Music Hall.
