Nora Brown in South Burlington

Nora Brown is an American banjo player and singer from Brooklyn who performs Appalachian old-time music. She is known for her interpretations of traditional material and for the albums Cinnamon Tree, Sidetrack My Engine and Long Time to Be Gone. She has performed at Newport Folk Festival and Denmark’s Roskilde Festival, bringing her banjo repertoire to folk audiences in the United States and Europe. Her solo performances center on voice and banjo, a format also documented in her concert for NPR’s Tiny Desk.
