Artist
Ami Faku is a South African singer-songwriter from eZinyoka, near Gqeberha, who performs Afro-soul and Afropop, often in isiXhosa. She is known for her debut album Imali, the songs “Inde Lendlela” and “Ubuhle Bakho,” and “Into Ingawe,” her collaboration with Sun-El Musician. In 2017, Ami Faku competed in the second season of The Voice South Africa, bringing her music to a national television audience. She later performed material from Imali with a live band for NPR’s Tiny Desk (home) concert series.
