Padre Guilherme & Klangphonics in Budapest

Padre Guilherme is the stage name of Guilherme Peixoto, a Portuguese Catholic priest and electronic-music DJ. He is known for techno sets built around Christian themes and excerpts from papal speeches. In 2023, he performed before the final Mass at World Youth Day. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, he streamed DJ sets online from Laundos. He later brought the same format to Campo da Graça, where his early-morning performance preceded the Mass celebrated by Pope Francis.

Klangphonics are a German electronic trio that plays melodic house and techno with acoustic drums, guitar and synthesizers. Performance videos filmed in everyday settings introduced their live approach to a broad online audience, while tracks including “Dendrometry” and “Great Plains” became central parts of their catalogue. Klangphonics have taken their live-band set through clubs and theatres in Europe and North America, and they have also performed at Burning Man in Nevada. At Fusion Festival in Germany, the trio presented its electronic material through the same combination of drums, guitar and synthesizers.
