Artist
Paulo Ricardo is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and bassist, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1962. He is best known as the lead singer of RPM, which he formed with keyboardist Luiz Schiavon in 1983, and as the voice of “Olhar 43,” “Rádio Pirata” and “A Cruz e a Espada.” His solo catalog includes “Dois” and “Vida Real,” the Portuguese-language theme associated with Big Brother Brasil. Paulo Ricardo fronted RPM on the Rádio Pirata ao Vivo tour, whose 1986 concerts at the Anhembi exhibition pavilion in São Paulo were directed by Ney Matogrosso and preserved on the live album of the same name. The band reunited for MTV ao Vivo: RPM in 2002 and resumed performing its catalog. His solo concerts draw on both parts of his career, pairing his own recordings with songs Paulo Ricardo made with RPM.
