Pavement in Richmond

Pavement are an American indie-rock band formed in Stockton, California, in 1989 by Stephen Malkmus and Scott Kannberg. Their loose, lo-fi guitar sound is documented on albums including Slanted and Enchanted, Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain and Wowee Zowee; “Cut Your Hair,” “Range Life” and “Gold Soundz” are among their best-known songs. After ending their first run in 1999, Pavement reunited for a 2010 tour that included four concerts at Central Park SummerStage. A second reunion tour began in 2022 and included a four-night stand at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre. Coachella hosted the band during its 2010 reunion. The later reunion brought Pavement back to Primavera Sound in 2022.
