Peat and Diesel in Sunderland

Peat and Diesel are a Scottish folk-rock trio formed in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in 2018. Their songs draw on island life and local characters, delivered through guitar, accordion and drums. The albums Uptown Fank and Light My Byre include staples such as “Salt and Pepper” and “Western Isles.” A sold-out 2020 concert at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom established a landmark in their early live history. In 2022, the trio carried that repertoire to Glastonbury Festival, extending a concert record built through venues and festivals around Britain. Peat and Diesel perform as a compact three-piece: Calum “Boydie” MacLeod sings and plays guitar, Innes Scott plays accordion, and Uilly Macleod plays drums.
