Pesado in Tulsa

Pesado is a Mexican norteño band formed in Monterrey in 1993 by accordionist and singer Beto Zapata and bajo sexto player and singer Pepe Elizondo. Its repertoire centers on romantic songs and cumbia norteña, including “Ojalá que te mueras,” “A chillar a otra parte,” “Mi promesa” and “Te quiero, te amo.” In 2013, Pesado celebrated its 20th anniversary at Arena Monterrey, and the performance was documented on the concert release Directo 93-13. The band also headlines theatres and arenas in Mexico and the United States. The stage lineup is built around accordion, bajo sexto, bass and drums, led by the alternating vocals of Beto Zapata and Pepe Elizondo.
