Peter Kraus in Ötigheim

Peter Kraus is an Austrian singer and actor, born in Munich in 1939, who became known in the late 1950s for German-language rock and roll. Songs including “Sugar Baby,” “Hula Baby” and “Wenn Teenager träumen” established his recording career, while musical films with Cornelia Froboess made him a familiar screen performer. The 2014 Das Beste kommt zum Schluss tour was presented as his farewell to touring, but he later returned to the stage. Schön war die Zeit! revisited his early repertoire, and Meine Hits – Meine Idole combined his own songs with material associated with performers who shaped his music, including Elvis Presley. His 2024 concerts celebrated his 85th birthday under the title Rockin’ 85!
