Profanatica is an American black metal band formed in 1990 by drummer and vocalist Paul Ledney, guitarist Brett Makowski and bassist Aragon Amori. The group plays raw black metal with a strong death-metal element and overtly blasphemous themes. Early releases included Weeping in Heaven, followed by albums such as Profanatitas de Domonatia, Disgusting Blasphemies Against God and Thy Kingdom Cum. After Ledney reactivated Profanatica in 2001, the band returned to concert work and later performed at Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore. Its festival history also includes California Deathfest in Oakland.
