Pulp in Manchester

Pulp are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 1978 and led by singer Jarvis Cocker. Their alternative rock and guitar pop became closely associated with Britpop through songs including “Common People,” “Disco 2000” and “Babies,” and albums such as Different Class, His ’n’ Hers and This Is Hardcore. Pulp replaced The Stone Roses at short notice as a Glastonbury Festival headliner in 1995. They reunited for concerts in 2011, then mounted the This Is What We Do for an Encore tour in 2023, including an outdoor concert at Finsbury Park in London. Pulp also co-headlined Reading Festival and Leeds Festival in 2011.

Self Esteem is the English alternative-pop project of Rotherham singer-songwriter Rebecca Lucy Taylor, launched after the end of her indie duo Slow Club. Her debut album, Compliments Please, was followed by the Mercury Prize-nominated Prioritise Pleasure, which includes “I Do This All the Time,” “The 345” and “Fucking Wizardry.” The Prioritise Pleasure tour took Self Esteem through UK venues in 2021 and 2022, followed by a performance on Glastonbury’s John Peel Stage. In 2023, the I Tour This All the Time run moved into larger rooms and concluded with a hometown headline show at Utilita Arena Sheffield.
