Artist
Ratboys are an American indie-rock band formed in 2010 by singer-guitarist Julia Steiner and guitarist Dave Sagan while they were students at the University of Notre Dame; the group later settled in Chicago. Their melodic guitar rock carries an alt-country edge, led by Steiner’s narrative songwriting. Albums including GN, Printer’s Devil and The Window feature songs such as “Elvis Is in the Freezer,” “Alien with a Sleep Mask On” and “Black Earth, WI.” In 2021, Ratboys marked their first decade with an anniversary concert at Schubas Tavern. A North American headline tour followed in 2023, and in 2024 the band opened a run of dates for The Decemberists.
