Rick Springfield & Night Ranger in Gibson City

Rick Springfield is an Australian-American singer, songwriter, guitarist and actor, born in Sydney in 1949. He became widely known through the 1981 album Working Class Dog and the songs “Jessie’s Girl,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers” and “Affair of the Heart.” His acting work includes the role of Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital. In 1985, he performed at Live Aid at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. He was still leading multi-artist amphitheater tours decades later, headlining the 2023 I Want My 80s Tour on dates featuring The Hooters, Paul Young and Tommy Tutone.

Night Ranger is an American hard-rock band formed in San Francisco in 1979. The group became known through the albums Dawn Patrol and Midnight Madness, and songs including “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me,” “Sister Christian,” “When You Close Your Eyes” and “(You Can Still) Rock in America.” Night Ranger joined Kiss for dates on the Creatures of the Night Tour after releasing its debut album, then headlined arenas during the Midnight Madness and 7 Wishes album cycles. The original lineup reunited for concerts in the 1990s, returning the band to the road after several years apart. The United States accounts for much of Night Ranger’s touring, while Japanese runs have included Osaka and Tokyo. The live album Rockin’ Shibuya 2007 documents the latter city’s concerts.
