Sam Lee in Singapore

Sam Lee is an English folk singer and song collector, born in London in 1980. He is known for interpreting traditional songs gathered from British and Irish Traveller communities; his debut album, Ground of Its Own, was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, followed by records including The Fade in Time and Old Wow. Since 2015, Sam Lee has presented Singing with Nightingales, a recurring series of woodland concerts in which musicians perform in response to wild nightingales. He later joined the concert ensemble for The Lost Words: Spell Songs, based on the work of Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris. His festival appearances have included Glastonbury Festival and WOMAD.
