Artist
Sayuri Ishikawa is a Japanese enka singer, born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1958, who made her recording debut in 1973. She is known especially for “Tsugaru Kaikyō Fuyugeshiki” and “Amagi-goe,” two enduring standards of the enka repertoire. In 1977, Sayuri Ishikawa made her first appearance on NHK’s year-end Kōhaku Uta Gassen, singing “Tsugaru Kaikyō Fuyugeshiki.” She returned to the program across subsequent decades; “Amagi-goe” became a recurring selection in performances at NHK Hall.
