Senri Oe in Kurashiki

Senri Oe is a Japanese singer-songwriter and pianist from Osaka who debuted in 1983 with the album WAKU WAKU. His piano-led pop catalogue includes “Rain” and “Glory Days.” After establishing a long career in J-pop, he turned his focus to jazz and released the piano album Boys Mature Slow. After moving to New York in 2008 to study jazz at The New School, he rebuilt his concert repertoire around acoustic piano. He has since performed in solo and small-group settings, revisiting earlier songs alongside his jazz compositions at venues including Blue Note Tokyo.
