Sertab Erener in Istanbul

Sertab Erener is a Turkish pop singer, born in 1964, known for her conservatory-trained voice and a catalogue that includes “Sakin Ol!”, “Aşk” and “Rengârenk.” She released her debut album, Sakin Ol!, in 1992 and won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 with “Everyway That I Can,” securing her country’s first victory in the competition. At the 2003 contest in Riga, Sertab Erener performed “Everyway That I Can” with a choreographed stage presentation. As the reigning winner, she returned the following year to perform during the opening of the final at Abdi İpekçi Arena in Istanbul.
