Shakatak in Worthing

Shakatak are a British jazz-funk band formed in London in 1980. Their polished mix of keyboards, bass, guitar, drums and vocals became closely associated with songs including “Easier Said Than Done,” “Night Birds,” “Invitations” and “Down on the Street,” while the album Night Birds established their signature early sound. Live in Japan documented the band’s strong concert following there during the 1980s, the start of a lasting connection that brought repeated tours and club dates. Their later stage work has also included theatre and jazz-club performances, captured on releases such as Live at the Playhouse and Live at Ronnie Scott’s.
