Sheila E. in Incline Village

Sheila E. is an American singer, drummer and percussionist, born in Oakland in 1957. Her music draws on funk, pop and Latin jazz, and she became widely known through her 1984 album The Glamorous Life, its title song, “A Love Bizarre” and her extensive work with Prince. Sheila E. and her band opened concerts on Prince’s Purple Rain Tour before she played drums and served as musical director on the Sign o’ the Times and Lovesexy tours. She later led her own concert band and toured as a member of Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. She has brought her band to the Montreux Jazz Festival, while Los Angeles audiences have seen her perform at the Playboy Jazz Festival.
